Scott Quigg has defeated Jason Booth in seven rounds to claim the British super-bantamweight title.
Booth's corner threw in the towel before the eighth round after Quigg had dominated his opponent from the start.
"To win the British title means a lot, and also to share the ring with such a great fighter and beat him," said the 23-year-old. "I just feel comfortable in the ring, I feel at home. I seem to get more mature in the ring and to do that to Jason proves I'm improving even more.
"This is my time now, to go on and prove that I'm the best."
Meanwhile, the defeated Booth paid a glowing tribute to the youngster.
"There was no chance (for me)," he said. "He was breaking me down with some nice boxing, he was in control all the time.
"This kid is going to go far. He's really amazing."
Quigg is now undefeated in 23 fights after he turned professional in 2007.
