Australia win Tri-Nation series with 58-run triumph over West Indies in final

Australia beat West Indies by 58 runs to win the Tri-Nation series in Bridgetown.

Australia have won the Tri-Nation series following a 58-run victory over West Indies in the final in Bridgetown on Sunday.

Matthew Wade hit an unbeaten 57 off 52 balls as the Aussies reached 270-9 in 50 overs after going into bat first.

Wade was the only player to claim a half-century, but Aaron Finch and Steven Smith contributed with 47 and 46 runs respectively.

Jason Holder and Shannon Gabriel nabbed two wickets apiece, but with the bat, the West Indies failed to match up to Australia as their top scorer was Johnson Charles, who hit a knock of 45 off 61 deliveries.

The bowlers stole the show as Josh Hazlewood took five wickets, including Andre Fletcher (9), Denesh Ramdin (40), Carlos Brathwaite (14), Sunil Narine (23) and Sulieman Benn (2).

Mitchell Marsh also impressed as he took three wickets before the West Indies were dismissed for 212 in 45.5 overs.
