Yorkshire batting coach Anthony McGrath has insisted that Jonny Bairstow has shown the best form of his career this season.
Bairstow, 25, who was recalled to the England Test squad for the third Ashes Test this afternoon, has scored 906 runs at an average of 100.66 in 11 County Championship innings for Yorkshire.
Speaking about his inclusion for the Edgbaston Test, McGrath has backed the Yorkshireman to produce similar performances against the Australians.
"He's scoring runs in all forms and is very confident. He really is in the form of his life - players just go through that," he told Sky Sports News.
"He's got to a stage where he has worked his game out and he's just seeing the ball very well. Hopefully he can take that form into an Ashes series and really show what he can do."
Bairstow last featured in a Test for England back in January 2014.
