England all-rounder Moeen Ali has called on the team to show Australia no mercy when they meet for the fifth Ashes Test at The Oval next week.
The hosts wrapped up the series by taking a 3-1 lead with an emphatic victory at Trent Bridge in the fourth Test, regaining the urn just 18 months after being whitewashed Down Under.
However, Ali wants to make the victory even more comprehensive as England go in search of four home Ashes wins in the same summer for the first time ever.
"It's a great opportunity to win 4-1 in a big series. We've played so well up to now, and we don't want to mess anything up," he told Sky Sports News.
"We want to keep the rhythm up, keep the way we're playing and...put the foot on the throat. The last two games have been two-and-a-half days, and it's been an amazing effort from the bowlers especially. Everyone has enjoyed watching The Ashes and everyone I talk to is really buzzing... long may it continue.
"It's been a tough 18 months leading up to it, so we made sure we enjoyed it. They absolutely smashed us at Lord's and never gave us a sniff - and we've done that to them pretty much three times. It's been tough for them, because we've played really well."
The fifth and final Ashes Test will start on Thursday, August 20.
