Jos Buttler has admitted that Alex Hales can bring an "X-factor" to England's batting lineup if he is selected to play against Bangladesh on Monday.
The Nottinghamshire opener is expected to replace Gary Ballance, who has yet to score over 10 in four World Cup innings, for the crucial Pool A match.
Wicket-keeper and vice-captain Buttler claims that Hales can bring the aggression that has been missing in England's three heavy defeats against fellow Test-playing nations.
"He's got that X-factor. It's something that's exciting when he walks to the crease," he told BBC Sport. "It's exciting to watch. He can take the game away from a team.
"He's raring to go and put in a performance to show he feels like he should have been playing."
Hales only averages 18 in his seven one-day internationals, but has previously been ranked the top Twenty20 batsman in the world.
