England batsman Alastair Cook has arrived at Lord's ahead of the ECB's midday press conference, which has sparked rumours that he will be named as Andrew Strauss's replacement as Test captain.
The 27-year-old, who is currently England's vice Test captain and the national side's current one-day international skipper, is widely expected to take the reins from Strauss after being spotted entering the famous cricket ground before an announcement this morning.
It is understood that Strauss will call time on his captain's role with England today following the media storm surrounding teammate Kevin Pietersen, who has been dropped from the squad after admitting to sending 'derogatory' text messages about his England compatriots to members of the South Africa team.
Strauss, who is also reportedly due to end his international career, has spent three years captaining England Test cricket.
