Charlotte Edwards thrilled by England milestone

England captain Charlotte Edwards claims that the prospect of skippering the team for the 200th time is "unbelievable".

England captain Charlotte Edwards has admitted that she is amazed to be on the verge of captaining the team for the 200th time.

The 35-year-old is expected to reach the milestone later tonight when her side faces New Zealand in a Twenty20 match.

Edwards was named England skipper in 2005, replacing Clare Connor.

Since then she has guided England to victories in three Ashes series and two World Cups.

"It's something I am hugely proud of," Edwards is quoted as saying by BBC Sport. "To captain England was the ultimate honour. To be on the verge of doing it for the 200th time is unbelievable.

"I've still got huge ambitions in the game personally and as a team. I'm not saying I'm going to retire in 2017, but playing in that World Cup is a huge goal for me."

Edwards made her international debut for England back in 1996.
