England have wrapped up the one-day international series against Australia with two games left to spare.

It was a record-breaking day for the hosts in Nottingham as they hit an ODI record of 481 runs thanks to centuries from Jonny Bairstow and Alex Hales.

The team hit 21 sixes and 41 fours to surpass the record of 450 in the one-day format of the game, which left Australia with a mountain to climb.

In the end, the tourists were beaten by 242 runs - a record defeat - with Travis Head ending the match as their highest run-scorer on 51 off 39 balls.

Bairstow and Hales hit knocks of 139 and 147 respectively to put England in a commanding position, while Eoin Morgan recorded a half-century with 67 off 30 deliveries.

England ousted opening batsmen D'Arcy Short (15) and Head (51) inside the first 14 overs, with Moeen Ali and Adil Rashid starring in the field with three and four wickets respectively.
