London has been awarded the 2016 UCI Track World Championships.
The decision to hold the event at the same velodrome that was used for the 2012 Olympics was made in Florence on Wednesday.
"This is another great coup for British sport and a real legacy from London 2012," BBC Sport quotes Minister for Sport Hugh Robertson as saying.
"The capital's velodrome is a stunning, world-leading venue and I am sure the 2016 Track World Championships will have capacity crowds supporting our best cyclists ahead of the Rio Games."
The 2016 Championships start on February 24.
