Former World Championship runner-up Gary Anderson has expressed his delight at winning his first PDC ranking event since September 2011.
The Scot scooped top prize at the German Darts Championship on Sunday after surviving six missed match darts en route to beating Justin Pipe 6-5 in the final.
Anderson thrilled the crowd with some impressive displays throughout the weekend in Hildesheim. His best performance saw him record a 108.65 average during his second-round victory over Glenn Spearing.
"It's been a long time coming but I'm delighted," Anderson told the PDC's official website. "I've put a lot of hard work in since the World Championship and it's paying off for me.
"My first game was really good and I had some other great moments during the weekend. Maybe I got a bit lucky in the final and rode my luck a little bit, but it's great to win.
"It's a good start to the year and I'm determined to do well this year. I've dropped out of the top 16 and I want to get back in there and keep climing back into the top eight again."
Anderson earned £20,000 for winning the event.
