Derby County midfielder Krystian Bielik has claimed that Italian giants AC Milan were interested in signing him before he made the switch to Pride Park.
Despite starring for Poland at the European Under-21 Championships in the summer, Arsenal sold the midfielder to the Rams for a fee that could reach up to £10m.
According to Bielik, who spent time on loan with Charlton Athletic last season, the Rossoneri showed an interest in signing him before the offer came in from Derby.
Speaking to sport.pl, he said: "I was hoping that I would get a chance under Unai Emery but it turned out that he couldn't see me in his plans.
"At the Euros, I wanted to show myself well and hoped that I was watched by the club and I could do a lot with good performances. Then, before the Championships, Milan's offer appeared, but ultimately nothing came of it."
The former Legia Warsaw player made his senior debut for Poland yesterday as a substitute in a 2-0 Euro 2020 qualifying defeat away to Slovenia.
