Half-Time Report: Harry Kane goal gives Tottenham Hotspur the lead at Arsenal

Arsenal are succumbing to a 1-0 scoreline at the hands of rivals Tottenham Hotspur in Sunday's Premier League North London derby at the Emirates Stadium, thanks to Harry Kane's strike.

Both sides began the game brightly and enjoyed forays into the opposition final third, but there were no concrete chances until the 20th minute when Christian Eriksen fired a shot which flew wide of the right post.

Five minutes later Eric Dier came close after creating some space for himself in front of goal and connecting with a corner, but his header sailed inches wide.

Spurs went on to break the deadlock just after the half-hour mark as Danny Rose's clever ball over the top was met by Kane, who showed good composure inside the box to bury the ball into the back of the net.

The hosts set about trying to pull level and came close in the 39th minute when Alexis Sanchez darted into the penalty area and unleashed a low drive towards the middle of the net, but Hugo Lloris was alert and thwarted his effort.

Mauricio Pochettino's charges ended the half on a high when Kane very nearly added a second just before the break with a powerful shot from the edge of the box, but Petr Cech managed to keep the ball out.
