Arsene Wenger targets Premier League title

Arsene Wenger says that Arsenal have the ambition to compete for the Premier League title this season.

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has said that the club are hopeful of vying for the Premier League title this season.

The Gunners have struggled to compete for the title in recent seasons and they last won the league in 2004, when they went through the season unbeaten.

"It's our target and we feel we have a chance in a very competitive league," Wenger told reporters.

"We finished third last season and we won the FA Cup so that shows that we are not far away. We have a good, cohesive group and I believe they are a group who have the ambition to do better.

"That's our target but it is very difficult to know how good we are until the season. What is important is that we focus as well as we can, then we have the chance."

Arsenal have won the title 13 times in their history.
