Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has revealed that Jack Wilshere should be back by the end of the season following a serious ankle injury.
The midfielder, who has been sidelined since pre-season, is beginning to increase his fitness on the training pitch.
"We have good news but Jack isn't close to a comeback," said Wenger.
"The last scan was good and he can start to jog again so he is on the way back – but we have to be very cautious with him.
"I hope to have him back before the end of the season, but we go step by step."
The Gunners will be looking to overturn a 4-0 deficit when they host AC Milan in the second leg of their Champions League last-16 tie on Tuesday.
