Arsene Wenger urges Arsenal to maintain focus ahead over Christmas.

Arsene Wenger has urged Arsenal to focus ahead of their clash with Wolves over the Christmas period.

The Frenchman – who has guided his side to fifth place in the Premier League after a poor start to the season – insists that Arsenal must concentrate on what the club can control instead of outside results, which he acknowledges can be difficult during the festive period.

"In the Premier League the Christmas period is vital to get your points," he said. "What is important for us is to focus on our own game and perform well.

"In the Premier League if you don't focus then you don't win, so let's focus on our next game and try to win it.

"We have learned that you win only if you are at your best. That's the difficulty, to combine the Christmas period with focus."

Arsenal are scheduled to face Wolves at the Emirates Stadium on December 27 – instead of December 26 – due to the London tube strike.
