It has been several weeks in the making, but it seems that Arsenal will finally get their man, as a move for Manchester City's Gabriel Jesus inches ever closer.
The 25-year-old has been free to leave the club following the signings of Julian Alvarez and Erling Braut Haaland, and Arsenal have always been regarded as the frontrunners for his signature.
According to The Athletic, Arsenal and Man City have now agreed on a £45m fee for Jesus, although there are still some details to be ironed out before the striker's arrival.
Jesus is expected to become Arsenal's top earner with a weekly wage in excess of £200,000, and he was due to become a free agent at the end of the 2022-23 season.
The Brazil international came up with 17 goal contributions in 28 Premier League matches to help City win the title last term, scoring eight times and providing nine assists.
Arsenal open to Nuno Tavares exit?

To say that Nuno Tavares endured a hit-and-miss season at Arsenal would be an understatement, and the left-back has been frequently linked with a move elsewhere in recent days.
Tavares was the victim of a couple of early substitutions during his debut year in North London, although he still managed a goal and two assists in 28 outings amid Kieran Tierney's injury problems.
With the Gunners working on a deal for Ajax's Lisandro Martinez, the Evening Standard claims that the club will let Tavares leave if they are able to sign a new left-back this summer.
Atalanta BC, Real Sociedad and Marseille are all rumoured to be interested in Tavares, and the French side are said to have already submitted a loan offer for the 22-year-old.
Tavares still has three years left to run on his Arsenal contract, and the Gunners have the option to extend his stay until 2026.
Seko Fofana blow

After making the Ligue 1 Team of the Year and being named the best African player in the French top flight, interest in Lens lynchpin Seko Fofana is rife.
The Ivory Coast international started all 38 league matches for Franck Haise's side last year, scoring eight goals, and he is thought to be on the radar of Arsenal as a result.
However, L'Equipe - via GFFN - reports that Fofana would prefer to remain in France with Paris Saint-Germain and is attracted to the idea of the sporting project at the Parc des Princes.
Kylian Mbappe - who is expected to have a greater say in off-field matters after signing his lucrative new contract - is believed to have given his personal approval for the signing of the 27-year-old.
Fofana - who spent time with Fulham and Manchester City as a teenager - still has two years left to run on the Lens contract he signed in 2020 following his £7.7m arrival from Udinese.
