The deal is complete between Arsenal and Roma over the loan of Ainsley Maitland-Niles, according to Fabrizio Romano, with the medical having been a success.

Arsenal's Ainsley Maitland-Niles has completed his loan deal to Roma.

The versatile footballer is traditionally a central midfielder, but throughout his career he has played in a variety of roles including right-back.

This season he has made eight appearances for the Gunners in the Premier League, but a move away from London has been rumoured for several weeks.

Fabrizio Romano recently confirmed the news on social media, stating that the deal has been done and Maitland-Niles has been registered to the Serie A system ahead of the transfer.

The deal is a straight forward loan until June, and there has been no buy option included, meaning the two clubs will have to come to terms on a new arrangement in the summer if they want to make it permanent.

The 24-year-old has completed the medical successfully and now all that awaits are the official statements, as he has been spotted landing in Italy.
