Apparent Arsenal and Spurs target Bernard stresses that he will not put pen to paper on his potential move to Shakhtar Donetsk when he visits the club this week.

Sought-after Brazilian Bernard has insisted that he will not put pen to paper on his potential move to Shakhtar Donetsk when he visits the club this week.

Donetsk are now the favourites to sign the winger after meeting Atletico Mineiro's £21.8m valuation, a figure that rumoured admirers Tottenham Hotspur and Arsenal were not prepared to bid.

Bernard will travel to Ukraine imminently for talks with Shakhtar, but the 20-year-old has stressed that nothing will be finalised during his trip and that he has yet to commit to the transfer.

He told TV Alterosa: "It's just a visit, there won't be any medical. Nothing is certain and I won't sign any documents.

"I made it clear to them that I would only visit so that I could see their facilities."

Bernard has been capped five times by Brazil since debuting in 2011.
