The agent of Real Madrid attacker Marco Asensio confirms that Arsenal have made an offer for the 26-year-old ahead of the summer transfer window.

The agent of Real Madrid attacker Marco Asensio has confirmed that Arsenal have been in contact over the possibility of a summer transfer.

The 26-year-old has entered the final 18 months of his contract with Los Blancos and is being heavily linked with an exit ahead of the 2022-23 season.

Arsenal are believed to possess an interest in bringing Asensio to the Emirates Stadium, and it would supposedly take a bid of £25m for Real to part ways with the Spain international.

Asensio's agent has now confirmed that the Gunners are in the running to sign the attacker, but they will face stiff competition from Serie A title challengers AC Milan.

"We are proud of Milan's interest. The Rossoneri [Milan] are an option even if there are offers from a couple of English clubs, including Arsenal. We are ready to evaluate every option," Asensio's agent is quoted by The Mirror as saying.

Asensio has scored 10 goals and provided one assist in 34 matches for Carlo Ancelotti's side this term, but he was dropped in favour of Federico Valverde for Wednesday's Champions League quarter-final first leg win against Chelsea.
