Palermo slap €40m price tag on Paulo Dybala

Palermo warn potential suitors that forward Paulo Dybala, who has been linked with Arsenal and Borussia Dortmund, will not be leaving the club for less than €40m.

Palermo have warned Europe's elite that they will have to pay at least €40m (£30.6m) to tempt them into selling Paulo Dybala.

Arsenal and Borussia Dortmund have been linked with January moves for the 21-year-old forward, who has taken Serie A by storm this season.

Dybala is rated as highly as his Argentine compatriot and former Palermo attacker Javier Pastore, who cost Paris Saint-Germain €39.8m in 2011, and club president Maurizio Zamparini will be demanding a similar fee for his latest star.

He told Sky Sport Italia: "Dybala is a world-class player who is being compared to Javier Pastore.

"Hence, his price tag matches the skill - we are talking €40m and upwards.

"So far offers for him have only come in obliquely because they know how tough I can be [when negotiating]."

Dybala has scored nine goals and assisted six more to help Palermo to 10th in the table in their first campaign back in the Italian top division.
