Arsenal are readying a move to bring former captain Cesc Fabregas back to the Emirates Stadium.

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger will reportedly exercise a clause in Cesc Fabregas's contract at Barcelona in order to bring him back to the club.

The Spaniard left the Gunners to return to his homeland in the summer of 2011 where he has since endured a mixed time at the Camp Nou.

The 26-year-old, who has allegedly been told that he is allowed to leave the Catalan outfit, is currently on holiday mulling over his future having been overlooked for many of the La Liga champions' big games last season.

Arsenal are thought to be monitoring their former captain's situation and boast a £25m first-option clause as part of the transfer that saw him leave the Emirates Stadium two years ago, according to the Daily Mail.

That fee could possibly be lowered as Barca are thought to still owe the North London outfit money from a deal that took Alex Song to Spain last summer.
