Aston Villa have announced that they have reached an agreement for Sevilla defender Diego Carlos.
At the start of the week, Villa signalled their intent for this summer's transfer window by winning the race for Marseille midfielder Boubacar Kamara.
Speculation has since persisted that other deals will be forthcoming, and the West Midlands outfit revealed on Thursday evening that they have agreed to sign highly-rated centre-back Carlos for a fee believed to be in the region of £26m.

The 29-year-old has been with Sevilla since 2019, making a total of 136 appearances across those three seasons and helping the Spanish outfit win the 2020 Europa League.
In January, the Brazilian was heavily linked with a switch to Newcastle United before both the player and his club opted to see out the campaign at Estadio Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan.
Villa are also being strongly linked with out-of-contract Burnley defender James Tarkowski as Steven Gerrard attempts to transform the club into contenders for European qualification.
