Markus Weinzierl: Augsburg must stay "realistic"

Augsburg coach Markus Weinzierl says that the club must stay "realistic" about their chances of Europe next season.

Augsburg head coach Markus Weinzierl has urged his side not to get carried away with their lofty Bundesliga position, with the club sitting ninth in the table after 21 games.

The club's eight-game unbeaten run came to an end at home to Nuremberg at the weekend, and the coach is hopeful that the players can return to winning ways against Freiburg.

"We want to go on a new run as quickly as possible," he told Bundesliga.com. "We're remaining realistic and keeping our feet on the ground. We know we've had to work extremely hard for our 31 points."

Augsburg are just three points behind sixth-placed Borussia Monchengladbach.
