Luis Enrique reveals Andres Iniesta injury

Barcelona boss Luis Enrique says that Andres Iniesta is suffering with a knee injury and will miss their La Liga match with Villarreal this weekend.

Barcelona boss Luis Enrique has revealed that Andres Iniesta is suffering with a knee injury.

The Spanish international will therefore miss tomorrow's La Liga clash with Villarreal, but Enrique is confident that he has the strength in depth to replace the midfielder.

"Iniesta has some knee discomfort. We value player's opinion a lot and together with the doctors we decided he won't play," he told reporters at a press conference.

"We have several options for that position, players with different qualities. I don't want to give anything away, but Xavi is certainly an option for us."

Barcelona beat Villarreal 3-2 in the corresponding match last season.
