Barcelona centre-back Javier Mascherano has insisted that his team still have work to do in La Liga despite taking charge of the division on Saturday afternoon.
The Catalan outfit recorded a 2-1 win over second-placed Atletico Madrid at Camp Nou to move three points clear at the summit, still with a game in hand.
Mascherano has said that his team are "happy with the result", but has urged for caution in the weeks ahead.
"We're happy with the result. It was a tough game, as they always are against Atletico. It reinforces us. It was important to get three more points and put some distance between us and them," Mascherano told reporters.
"There's a long way to go still. It's always important to beat direct rivals. We did our jobs, but we also have to keep doing it."
Barcelona are currently on a 26-game unbeaten run in all competitions, with their last loss of any kind coming at the start of October.
