Ernesto Valverde: 'More signings are likely'

Barcelona boss Ernesto Valverde says that his club "are likely" to make more signings this summer.

Barcelona boss Ernesto Valverde has revealed that his club "are likely" to make more signings before this summer's transfer window closes for business.

The Spanish champions have brought Arthur, Clement Lenglet and Malcom to Camp Nou ahead of the 2018-19 campaign, but Andres Iniesta and Paulinho have both moved on.

Valverde has said that Barcelona 'are keeping their options open' as the Catalan giants look to further improve their squad ahead of the new season.

"We are keeping all our options open," Valverde told reporters. "We have two big departures from the centre of our midfielder and only one has come in (for that position), so yes more signings are likely.

"Andres and Paulinho have both left but we need to have as strong a squad as possible who can compete on all fronts. We need players who can fit our style, who can be creative yet also arrive in the box too."

Barcelona will begin their preparations for the new campaign with a clash against Tottenham Hotspur on Saturday night.
