Barcelona reportedly remain interested in signing Ilkay Gundogan from Manchester City as they look to replace the void left by Andres Iniesta.
The Catalan giants are said to have a number of central-midfield targets in mind and hope to have at least one in place before the start of the season.
Despite Gundogan playing down previous links with a move to Camp Nou earlier in the summer, Le 10 Sport suggests that the Germany international is still in Ernesto Valverde's thoughts.
Gundogan may be on the brink of signing a new deal with Man City, however, after putting his injury nightmare to one side to feature 48 times in all competitions under Pep Guardiola last season.
Chelsea's Willian is another reported target for Valverde, who won a La Liga and Copa del Rey double in his first campaign at Barcelona.
