Lee Johnson accepts Barnsley defeat to Sheffield United

Lee Johnson admits that Barnsley deserved their 2-0 defeat to Sheffield United at Oakwell.

Barnsley boss Lee Johnson has admitted that his side deserved their 2-0 defeat at home to Sheffield United.

The Tykes saw their League One playoff hopes dented at Oakwell on Saturday as the Blades ended their nine-game unbeaten run.

Despite being disappointed with the outcome of the game, Johnson concedes that Barnsley were not good enough to come away with anything.

"It was majorly disappointing from our point of view," he is quoted as saying by Sky Sports News.

"We failed really on an occasion that was important to us. The players are disappointed, of course. We huffed and puffed but over the course of 90 minutes we were the second best side."

Barnsley have the chance to get back to winning ways on Monday when they make the trip to Colchester United.
