Philipp Lahm: "Great chance" to extend lead

Bayern Munich captain Philipp Lahm believes that his side can go 13 points clear at the top of the Bundesliga.

Bayern Munich captain Philipp Lahm has admitted that Wednesday night's clash away to Stuttgart is a good chance for them to increase their lead at the top of the Bundesliga.

The Bavarian side would move 13 points clear should they win their game in hand, and Lahm believes that another strong performance should get them the points to do just that.

"We've got a great chance to keep going and build on our lead," he told Bundesliga.com. "It's up to us. If we play as well as we can do then we'll go home with all three points.

"We've picked up points whenever we've played there in recent years, but it's never been easy."

Stuttgart have not beaten Bayern since 2007.
