Blackpool chairman Karl Oyston has claimed that the club need to change the type of players they target in the transfer window.
As the club prepare to let plenty of contracts expire at the end of a difficult season, Oyston insists that only players with the correct mental attributes will be approached during the summer break.
"This goes without saying, but recruitment has been our failing and needs to improve," the chairman told the Blackpool Gazette.
"We probably need to go for a different profile of players.
"We should be aiming for ones who are young and hungry, or at least hungry whatever their age. You have to have people who want to play, want to perform and want to improve."
Barry Ferguson's side are currently 18th in the Championship.
