Blackpool chairman Karl Oyston has declared himself pleased with the job caretaker manager Barry Ferguson is doing at Bloomfield Road.
Oyston believes that the squad is fully behind Ferguson and that there is no need for discussions over a permanent appointment to be hurried.
"I see no benefit particularly in making a formal arrangement, Barry is doing okay at the moment," the Blackpool chairman told supporters at a Q&A session.
"We need to keep his options, and ours, open. There's no pressure whatsoever to make anything permanent, on his part or ours.
"The squad are working very hard and are fully behind him, so I don't see how they could be more committed if we made the arrangement formal."
Ferguson took temporary charge of Blackpool after Paul Ince was sacked in January.
