Bolton Wanderers turnaround a two-goal deficit to beat Bristol City thanks to goals from Chris Eagles, Jay Spearing and Martin Petrov.

Bolton Wanderers began life without Owen Coyle with a stirring victory at home to Bristol City despite trailing 2-0 in the early stages.

Steven Davies opened the scoring after three minutes and doubled his tally 20 minutes later from the penalty spot after a foul by Tim Ream.

Chris Eagles produced an instant response for Bolton, netting a powerful free kick to reduce the deficit before half-time.

Bolton dominated possession in the second half and were rewarded when Jay Spearing continued a late surge forward and slotted home a pass from Kevin Davies.

The turnaround was completed 10 minutes from time when Martin Petrov found space and finished coolly from a tight angle.
