Yann Kermorgant has given Bournemouth a 1-0 half-time lead over promotion rivals Middlesbrough in the Championship this afternoon.
The hosts had a chance to open the scoring just a couple of minutes into the match when Kermorgant attempted to curl the ball in from a free kick, but Dimitrios Konstantopoulos did just enough to tip it wide.
Kermorgant did manage to break the deadlock less than 15 minutes in though as Bournemouth were awarded a penalty when Tomas Kalas pulled Callum Wilson down in the box, leaving the striker to fire the spot kick into the top right.
Eddie Howe's side continued to look the more likely as Wilson got himself into a dangerous position again, setting up Kermorgant for an attempt at a second, but the keeper was ready.
Konstantopoulos continued to come under pressure between the posts as Matt Ritchie came forward, but his low strike was watched all the way by the Boro keeper.
