Simon Francis: 'We can't worry about injuries'

Bournemouth defender Simon Francis says that the team have to focus on their games in hand rather than worrying about losing key players to injury.

Bournemouth defender Simon Francis has insisted that the team has to forget about their injury plight and focus on results.

The Cherries have lost striker Callum Wilson to a long-term cruciate injury this week, while summer signings Max Gradel and Tyrone Mings face spells on the sidelines after both sustained knee injuries in the match against Leicester City earlier this month.

Francis has admitted that the Premier League newcomers have been unlucky with the severity of the injuries to key players.

"It is sad news. It has been incredible really, the injuries. I have never seen anything like it, never been at a club where lads suffer similar injuries," he told Sky Sports News.

"There is no doubt now we have to rally around the lads. We have got a small squad, smaller with the injuries, but we can't dwell on it for too long, because this is the Premier League.

"We need to get results and get them fairly fast."

Bournemouth host Watford on Saturday.
