Real Madrid winger Eden Hazard is potentially facing a fresh injury setback after he was nowhere to be seen in training on Monday, according to a report.

Eden Hazard may be facing a fresh setback in his recovery from a muscular problem after missing Real Madrid training on Monday morning, according to a report.

The former Chelsea winger has been plagued with injuries ever since swapping Stamford Bridge for the Bernabeu in 2019, and he has missed the club's last four La Liga matches with his latest muscular issue.

Manager Zinedine Zidane recently claimed that Hazard was "ready" to return in time for a Champions League reunion with Chelsea, although he was not deemed to be fit enough for Sunday's goalless stalemate with Getafe.

According to Marca, Hazard was nowhere to be seen in Blancos training on Monday morning, despite being put through his paces last week, and he is now classed as a major doubt for his side's midweek battle with Cadiz.

On a more positive note, the report adds that Raphael Varane took part after returning a negative coronavirus test, so he should be available for Zidane on Wednesday night.

Hazard has featured from the first whistle on just six occasions in the 2020-21 La Liga campaign, netting two goals in victories over Huesca and Alaves.
