New manager Antonio Conte describes Chelsea as "underrated"

New Chelsea manager Antonio Conte claims that his team are "underrated" and can spring a few 'surprises'.

New Chelsea manager Antonio Conte has described his team as "underrated", and insists that they have the ability to "surprise people".

The Italian coach heads to Stamford Bridge following a tumultuous season in West London, in which the club suffered a managerial sacking and the loss of their Premier League title.

The Blues sacked Jose Mourinho in December and ended up finishing the campaign 10th in the table.

"I felt very emotional about coming here," Conte told reporters in his first official press conference as manager. "I am very proud and I've worked very hard. I think Chelsea are underrated and we can surprise people. I hope there is a small flame flickering that can turn into a towering inferno.

"I don't know if it is a good thing but I have a great passion for my team and players. I like to stay with my players in training - to play with them, to lose with them. I have great passion and I want to transfer that to my players and fans.

"I suffer during the game, I want my players and fans to see this because we work hard during the week and I am not happy when we don't reach our target."

Meanwhile, Conte has confirmed that John Terry will remain as captain.
