Former Chelsea boss Antonio Conte heaps praise on the professionalism of club captain John Terry during his time at Stamford Bridge.

Former Chelsea boss Antonio Conte has revealed that he 'cannot thank John Terry enough' for his professionalism during his time at Stamford Bridge.

At a time when Chelsea won the Premier League in Conte's first year at the club, Terry found himself restricted to the substitutes' bench for much of the campaign.

However, Conte has heaped praise on the then-veteran, who he says proved invaluable behind the scenes when he had moved from Italy to England.

Speaking to Sky Sports News, Conte said: "It was a great privilege for me to be the coach of a Chelsea legend like John Terry.

"We are talking about a top man, a really good man and then a top player. He helped me a lot in my first season in and out of the pitch. He was very important in the training ground, during the sessions to keep the concentration standards high.

"I will never be able to thank him enough. He was very important for me and our team."

Terry made just six starts and three substitute outings during 2015-16, two of which came after Chelsea had already won the title.
