Jose Mourinho: 'Title in Manchester City's hands'

Jose Mourinho maintains that Manchester City are the favourites to win the Premier League title.

Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho has maintained that the Premier League title is in Manchester City's hands, despite seeing his side climb back to the summit.

The Blues overtook both City and Liverpool courtesy of their 3-0 victory over Stoke City at Stamford Bridge, but Mourinho is continuing to play down expectations.

"I keep saying that we don't depend only on ourselves and we never did," the former Real Madrid boss is quoted as saying by Sky Sports News. "I was waiting to be top of the league and depending on ourselves but that has never happened. We depend too much on other results.

"We have to play Liverpool so we have three points to discuss with them but with Manchester City we don't play them, so they have it in their hands.

"It is a good victory and it's what we have to do until the end of the season. We have five matches in the Premier League and we have to win five."

Chelsea turn their attention back to the Champions League in the week when they take on Paris Saint-Germain in the second leg of their semi-final clash.
