Bayern Munich defender Niklas Sule is reportedly open to a move to the Premier League when his contract expires next summer, with Chelsea thought to be interested.

Bayern Munich defender Niklas Sule is reportedly keen on a move to the Premier League next summer.

The 26-year-old's contract at the Allianz Arena expires at the end of the season, and he has shown little appetite for an extension as he goes in search of a new challenge.

Sule will be free to discuss terms of a pre-contract agreement with foreign clubs from January 1, and Goal reports that he will use that opportunity to consider his options.

The report claims that a move to the Premier League would be his preference, and Chelsea have been credited with an interest in the Germany international.

The European champions are in the market for defensive reinforcements ahead of a looming contract crisis which could see Antonio Rudiger, Cesar Azpilicueta, Thiago Silva and Andreas Christensen all able to leave the club on free transfers next summer.

Sule has been identified as a possible target to replace any of those who do leave, although any such switch would wait until the summer with an early January exit ruled out.

The centre-back joined Bayern from Hoffenheim in 2017 and has since made 155 appearances for the club.
