Chelsea are reportedly planning to rival Manchester United and Barcelona for the signature of Tottenham Hotspur's Toby Alderweireld.

Chelsea are reportedly planning to join the race to sign Tottenham Hotspur's Toby Alderweireld.

The Blues are poised to rival Manchester United and Barcelona for the Belgian international's services this summer, according to The Mirror.

Chelsea are said to be hoping to knock down Spurs' asking price of £55m and land the defender for around £40m when the transfer window reopens.

Alderweireld has been linked with the White Hart Lane exit since being dropped by manager Mauricio Pochettino several weeks back.

Chelsea and Spurs will go head to head in the Premier League at Stamford Bridge this weekend, and Alderweireld's chances of making the starting XI are said to be slim.
