Chelsea have reportedly agreed to allow David Zappacosta to spend the upcoming season on loan at Roma.
During his two-year spell at Stamford Bridge, Zappacosta has remained a squad player, making a total of 34 starts and 18 substitute outings in all competitions.
The versatile right-sided player expressed a desire to return to Italy earlier this summer, although Chelsea have put off making a decision on the 27-year-old's future as they continue to monitor Reece James's recovery from injury.
However, according to the London Evening Standard, the Blues are now happy to give the green light for Zappacosta to spend another period in Serie A.
While a loan deal is said to be in place, Chelsea may provide Roma with the option of sealing a permanent transfer at the end of the season.
Zappacosta still has just under two years remaining on his contract with the West Londoners.
