Liverpool to poach Dutch teen from Chelsea?

Liverpool reportedly consider a swoop for Dutch teenager Xavier Mbuyamba, who is currently on loan at Chelsea.

Liverpool are reportedly considering a summer swoop for Dutch teenager Xavier Mbuyamba.

The 17-year-old currently turns out for MVV Maastricht and has already made 11 first-team appearances for the second-tier Dutch outfit.

According to Voetbal International, Mbuyamba is already on trial at Chelsea, but Liverpool are hoping to poach the highly-rated teenager from their Premier League rivals.

The centre-back has not signed a professional contract with MVV, and it is understood that Celtic, Bayern Munich and Porto are also closely monitoring developments ahead of potential moves.

Various reports in the Netherlands have dubbed Mbuyama - who stands at 6ft 2inches - the next Virgil van Dijk.
