Half-Time Report: Crystal Palace and Burnley goalless at half time

Crystal Palace and Burnley play out a goalless first half in the Premier League, as Neil Warnock returns to Selhurst Park for his first home game back in charge.

Crystal Palace boss Neil Warnock is being frustrated by Premier League rivals Burnley in his first game back at Selhurst Park this afternoon.

It was the hosts who looked most dangerous at the start of the game, as Palace defender Scott Dann leapt highest to meet Frazier Campbell's cross, but his headed effort crashed back off the crossbar.

Wilfried Zaha threatened early on and he showed great feet to get into an advanced position, only to then see his shot hit straight at a grateful Tom Heaton in the Burnley goal.

Palace midfielder Jason Puncheon was next to try to break the deadlock as the home side continued to dominate, but he shot straight at the keeper from distance before striker Dwight Gayle blazed over from the centre of the box.

A quiet Burnley side were restricted to shots from range in the first 45 minutes, with Lukas Jutkiewicz feeding new signing George Boyd, who shot straight into a Palace defender.

Mile Jedinak might have put Palace into the lead just before the break, but the home captain sent his header wide of the post having been picked out by Puncheon, leaving the scores goalless at the break.
