Roberto Martinez pleased with Everton focus

Everton boss Roberto Martinez praises his squad for the focus that they have shown at the start of the season.

Everton manager Roberto Martinez has praised the focus of his squad following their strong start to the season.

The Toffees are currently in sixth place in the Premier League table with 18 points from their opening nine matches.

"The points tally is a very good one, the performances have been very, very good and what I have really been impressed with is the attitude and focus of the players," he told the Liverpool Echo.

"They are a really strong unit who have been successful over the years and for me, it was important to keep that.

"But they have also opened up to doing things in a different way and that has been impressive."

Everton continue their Premier League campaign on Sunday when they welcome Tottenham Hotspur to Goodison Park.
