Turkish giants Fenerbahce announce the signing of Ryan Kent on a free transfer following his exit from Rangers.

Turkish giants Fenerbahce have announced the signing of Ryan Kent on a free transfer following his exit from Rangers.

The 26-year-old winger departed the Gers upon the expiration of his contract last month after five years at Ibrox.

Kent scored 33 goals and provided 57 assists in 218 appearances for Rangers across all competitions and won the Scottish Premiership title and Scottish Cup, as well as being named in the PFA Scotland Team of the Year on two occasions.

The former Liverpool youngster was also a key player for the Gers en route to the 2021-22 Europa League final, with the Glaswegian giants ultimately losing on penalties to Eintracht Frankfurt.

Kent has now decided to continue his career in Turkey and has put pen to paper on a four-year contract with Fenerbahce, who beat Istanbul Basaksehir 2-0 to win the Turkish Cup on Sunday.

"Firstly I would like to congratulate everybody associated with the club for winning the cup," Kent said via the club's official Twitter account.

"It's an honour to be joining Fenerbahce. After speaking with the club, I am aware of the visions and targets for next season and I look forward to helping my team achieve those goals, starting with the Super Cup next month.

"I'm excited to start pre-season, to meet my teammates and to meet you fans".

Kent joins up with a squad including former Queens Park Rangers winger Bright Osayi-Samuel as well as the likes of Michy Batshuayi, Joshua King and Enner Valencia who have all previously plied their trade in the Premier League.

Fenerbahce, managed by Jorge Jesus, finished second in the Super Lig table in 2022-23, eight points behind champions Galatasaray, and they will enter the Europa League qualifiers ahead of next season.
