Fiorentina forward Giuseppe Rossi has been called up to the Italian national squad for their upcoming World Cup qualifiers against Denmark and Armenia.
The 26-year-old, who has scored five goals in six Serie A games for Viola, has not featured for the Azzurri since suffering a cruciate ligament injury that kept him out of action for most of the last two years.
Premier League duo Emmanuele Giaccherini and Pablo Osvaldo, of Sunderland and Southampton respectively, have also been called up.
They are two of four players - including Salvatore Sirigu and Marco Verratti - playing their football outside of Italy.
Meanwhile, a domestic ban for bad behaviour has not stopped Cesare Prandelli from picking AC Milan's Mario Balotelli for the match in Copenhagen on October 11 and then in Turin four days later.
