Slavisa Jokanovic: 'Fulham will not be changing style of play'

Slavisa Jokanovic insists that Fulham will not be changing their approach ahead of their Championship trip to table-topping Wolverhampton Wanderers on Friday.

Slavisa Jokanovic has stressed that Fulham will not be changing their approach ahead of their Championship trip to Wolverhampton Wanderers on Friday.

The Cottagers failed to win in four outings during October and face a Wolves side who moved back to the top of the table with a 2-0 win at Norwich City in midweek.

At present, Fulham's approach involves patient build-up play and critics have suggested a more direct style, but Jokanovic is adamant that the club's form will improve once sloppy mistakes are eradicated.

"This is the problem we didn't find enough solution for, we conceded too many easy goals," Jokanovic told Sky Sports News. "If you make mistakes like we make, you are not solid enough or clinical enough in important moments in the game.

"We must go back to basics and try to be more competitive and do the basic things like being more solid, putting yourself behind the ball and not making small mistakes. Many small mistakes bring you into a situation where it's complicated to be competitive."

"Some people have an opinion about taking risks and playing from the back but I don't remember the last goal conceded from taking these risks.

"At the end, I like where we start to build up and where opposite teams start to press us, this is the reason we start from the back. My message is to try take this press and attack three defenders with 50 yards behind them, this is the point."

Fulham currently sit 16th in the Championship table with 19 points from 16 games.
