Hull City delay takeover talks until September

Hull City announce that they have put takeover talks on hold as they look to strengthen their squad during the final six weeks of the transfer window.

Hull City have announced that they have put takeover talks on hold until the end of the summer transfer window.

The Tigers have been in discussions with an interested party since May but injuries to a number of first-team players have resulted in the club wanting to focus their attentions on signing new players.

A club statement read: "Whilst the owners intend to continue discussing a sale to interested parties in September, the priority for the coming weeks is strengthening the squad ahead of the start of the new Premier League season, particularly given the number of injuries sustained to key players during pre-season."

As well as injuries on the pitch, Hull have also had to contend with speculation linking manager Steve Bruce with the England job.

After earning a return to the Premier League last season, Hull begin the new campaign with a home fixture against champions Leicester City on August 13.
