Paul McShane downbeat on survival hopes

Paul McShane says that he and his Hull teammates only have themselves to blame if they are relegated from the Premier League.

Paul McShane has admitted that Hull City have more than likely blown their hopes of Premier League survival after Saturday's 1-0 defeat to Burnley.

Steve Bruce's side are odds-on favourites to follow the Clarets and Queens Park Rangers into the Championship next season after losing a crucial six-pointer at the KC Stadium.

Hull, who sit two points adrift of safety, travel to Tottenham Hotspur next week before hosting Manchester United in their final game, and McShane says that City only have themselves to blame if relegation comes.

"Maybe we were a bit tense and never really got going and didn't play like we can play," he told The Mirror. "It was a massive game for us. It was a massive chance for us to stay up.

"They were there for the taking. We've performed much better this season and we just didn't turn up. That's the bottom line.

"In the dressing room there was devastation. The lads will try to pick themselves back up and start again."

The Tigers have won five of their 16 league outings in 2015 - and only eight all season.
