Scott Loach has expressed his disappointment at Ipswich Town's failure to claim at least a replay from the FA Cup tie against Aston Villa yesterday afternoon.
It looked as though Championship outfit Ipswich were going to book their place in round four when an own goal by Villa defender Eric Lichaj handed them a 1-0 lead at the break.
However, goals from former Tractor Boy Darren Bent and Andreas Weimann in the second half gave their Premier League hosts a narrow 2-1 victory.
"We are disappointed after going 1-0 up that we started the second half as sloppily as we did," Loach told the East Anglian Daily Times. "But that is what happens when you let the quality of Darren Bent get a chance at goal.
"I think overall they might have edged it in the end. In the first half we were more than a match and Shay Given had to make a few saves.
"At the end of the day, we walk away disappointed that we didn't get a replay, but Aston Villa showed why they are in the Premier League."
Next up for Ipswich is a trip to Championship leaders Cardiff City.
